FaithCARE Talk: Grieving
Tuesday, 14 August 2018, 7.30pm, Wesley Hall (Attic Level)
Grief is widely experienced yet little understood. Its impact includes struggles with conflicting emotions, difficulties performing daily functions, and thoughts intimidating to both the griever and those around them.
People are generally uncomfortable talking to grievers as they do not know what to say and do. In this talk, guest speaker Jean Tay will show us what grief is about and how to support grievers, equipping us with the understanding and skills to respond empathetically and effectively.
Jean Tay is a professional counsellor and clinical supervisor at Life Journey Counselling and various universities. A trainer and educator, she creates programmes that draw on learning pedagogies as well as counselling approaches and techniques to enable holistic and meaningful learning. Jean has specializations in trauma and grief work and has journeyed with many grievers to recovery.
