Understanding the Psyche of the Elderly

FaithCARE Talk: Understanding the Psyche of the Elderly
Tue, 19 Sep, 7.30pm, Children's Chapel (Attic Level)

The psyche of the elderly is such that they have many needs, and only when we understand these needs can we provide person-centred care or services that elevate their dignity and independence. When the needs of the elderly are met, the quality of their long-term care improves and caretaking becomes more enjoyable.

Understanding the Psyche of the Elderly will uncover tips and skills for working with the elderly, and benefit anyone in such caretaking capacities. Jonathan Chong, the speaker for the talk, is a Senior Social Medical Worker at St. Luke's Hospital. He specialises in gerontological and couple/family/marital counselling, and has given family life talks at Family Courts, the Ministry of Social and Family Development and in the community.

Registration is not required for this talk. For enquiries, please contact Phoon Kum Yuen at 9796 7362 or phoon_kum_yuen@hotmail.com.
