How can I grow in the Christian Faith?
Knowing Jesus is the important and wonderful decision of your life. The moment you said “yes” to Jesus as your saviour and Lord, you begin a new relationship with God and become a part of His family! Welcome!
You can grow deeper in this new relationship by:
Spending time with God
Get to know Jesus more by reading His Word (the Bible) and talking with Him (prayer) daily.
Connecting to a church family
Every Christian needs a group of fellow Christians to guide and care for him/her in this new journey of faith. Start connecting with a church family by attending Sunday Celebration Services and joining a small group where you can be cared for, supported and discipled in the Christian faith.
Serving in a ministry
Christians are called to a life of servanthood, modelled after Jesus, who came to serve and not to be served. Start by serving in a ministry with your God-given gifts and talents. There are more than 20 ministries and a hundred serving opportunities at Faith – there certainly would be something for you!
Committing to baptism & membership
Declare your faith in and obedience to Jesus Christ through baptism. Thereafter, be a member in Faith Methodist Church as an act of commitment to this church family. To begin the baptism and membership process, enroll for the FMC 101 Membership Class. The Class is held twice a year.
Sharing your faith with the people around you
Jesus gave His disciples the Great Commission to be His witnesses and to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8) before He ascended to Heaven. Now that you have heard the Good News of Jesus and know Him as Saviour and Friend, witness to what Jesus has done for you and what He means to you with others, so that they too can begin a relationship of peace, joy and hope with Jesus.
You can also collect a New Believers’ Kit (Yes! Kit) from the Church to guide you in your walk with God and to grow in your faith.
