life groups
Life Groups are the key to experiencing life holistically. Going beyond Bible study or fellowship, it is a community of love where we experience care, build each other up, and be equipped together to serve others. As the heartbeat of Faith Methodist Church, our vision: “Transforming Lives, Changing the World” is primarily expressed through Life Groups, as we grow in the 5 building blocks of F.A.I.T.H., both individually and together.

5 Building Blocks of Faith
fellowship
We strive to be a community of Life Groups, with every member connected in soul-to-soul relationships. Our goal is to be grounded by a culture of forgiveness and acceptance, where people meet needs where they find them, and heal hurts where they see them.
adoration
Life Groups at Faith come together at Sunday worship services to express our love for God in song, prayer, and giving as a Faith church family. We also gather as individual Life Groups for regular praise and worship, and to spur each other on in leading a lifestyle of prayer.
involvement
Each Life Group member brings to the group their God-given Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences (S.H.A.P.E). We complement one another to serve fellow members and our community.
transformation
Change and transformation take place in Life Groups, as we study God’s Word together, pray for one another, and hold one another accountable. We are authentic with each other, serve together, reach out together, and more. And as God works in each of us, we strive to submit to His will and likeness.
harvest
Our Life Groups are our starting point, from which we bring God’s love to relationships with others around us, the community, and the regions beyond. Our Life Group is our team, in which we transform lives and change the world.
why life groups?
A COMMUNITY OF BIBLICALLY GROUNDED LIFE GROUPS IS THE BEST WAY TO TRANSFORM LIVES AND CHANGE THE WORLD
Life change is often facilitated in Life Groups, where care, encouragement, and accountability create an environment for growth. In a large church community, they ensure everyone is known and cared for personally. Jesus had a Life Group of 12 disciples (Mark 3:14-15), training them to preach the Gospel and change the world! The early church grew through small groups (Acts 2:46-47, Acts 5:42), experiencing authentic fellowship and encouraging one another in faith. Just as Life Groups were foundational in the early church, Methodist founder John Wesley built his movement on class meetings — or Life Groups — which served as the centrepiece of Methodism for over a century. This foundation shows that transformative discipleship thrives in close-knit groups, where accountability, transparency, and trust nurture deeper faith and stronger relationships with God and others.
The Full Potential of Life Groups Is Realised When It Is Prioritised in the Lives of the Church, Leaders, and Members
Too many competing programmes and activities can stifle the vitality of a Life Group. Effective leaders need time for training and to care for and disciple members. A thriving Life Group requires members who prioritise loving and serving one another, practising spiritual disciplines, and addressing personal, family, and group issues to grow in Christ-likeness and reach out to others.
