social concerns
Faith’s Ministry for Outreach & Social Concerns (OSC) reaches out to the neighbouring community surrounding Faith. Going out with the love of Christ, we touch lives through visitations, befriending activities and meeting practical needs, regardless of background, race or religion. These are some of the ways we do outreach in the community:

ADOPT-A-BLOCK (aab)
Adopt-A-Block (AAB) is Faith Methodist Church’s outreach effort to the residents in the community around us with particular emphasis in the Commonwealth and Tanglin Halt area.
AAB’s commitment is to visit the residents 4 times a year, typically over Chinese New Year, Easter, Mid-Autumn Festival and Christmas. OSC usually provides gifts or flyers or both for our volunteers to bring with them when visiting to help break the ice and invite the residents to our various programmes organized by our church and by our Church’s social outreach partner, FaithActs.
The main demographic of the residents are seniors however we are seeing an increase in young families moving into the area. The main strategy is to befriend our residents and reach out to them by meeting their needs
ADOPT A FAMILY (AAF)
Adopt-a-family is Faith Methodist Church’s program of supporting financially- needy households, as well as building long-term friendships with them. Our volunteers visit the families at least once a month to follow-up on their well-being and get to know them better. Currently, the bulk of the needy households/families consists of lonely seniors, and our church organizes activities for them to be meaningfully engaged in. One such activity is our “lonely seniors’ lunch and gathering” every Chinese New Year.
GOD OF LOVE DELIVERY (GOLD)
God-Of-Love-Delivery (GOLD) is Faith Methodist Church’s outreach effort through food delivery to the rental flats at the Holland Close and Ghim Moh area.
Our volunteers serve with GOLD weekly, on either Saturdays or both Saturdays and Sundays. Saturday’s only for Holland Close and both Saturday and Sunday for Ghim Moh. The food that is being distributed to our adopted residents are received from Willing Hearts charity, or by external vendors. Through the act of delivering food to our beneficiaries, we have built and hope to continue to build relationships with them over time and share the gospel with them personally or through our evangelistic events.
Migrant worker outreach
When the opportunity arises, our church reaches out to the migrant workers who may be working around the vicinity of Faith Methodist Church (e.g. At the Commonwealth Close and Tanglin Halt area.)
While it is currently done on an adhoc basis , we hope to be able to befriend and engage more of them over time, especially with the redevelopment construction projects commencing around the church. We currently invite our migrant worker friends to meals close to their workplace.
